MasterCard Launches Travel Card with PayPass's Tap & Go Technology

MasterCard Worldwide has launched a new prepaid reloadable travel card with PayPass's Tap & Go contactless technology. It is the first prepaid travel card offering in the U.S. to be equipped with contactless technology. Users may handle the card at retailers equipped with PayPass card readers and will save users the hassle of swiping the card through a machine. The Travel Card was issued in cooperation with Airlines Registry Corporation (ARC), a financial services provider, and will be marketed primarily through ARC's network of 20,000 travel agents. The Travel Card can be used as a credit card and can also help in drawing local currency at more than a million ATMs around the world in MasterCard's network.
