Product Managers Make an Average of $115,000: A Survey

The average U.S. product manager draws $100,259 in salary and an additional $14,799 in annual bonus, according to Pragmatic Marketing's annual survey of product managers and marketing professionals. The 2007 Annual Product Management and Marketing Survey revealed that a product manager's maximum salary and bonus can go up to $240,000 and $ 215,000, respectively. Among other key findings, 89% of product managers monitor development projects, 85% write requirements, and 70% research on market needs. Product managers also spend time providing technical content for marketing and sales, wherein 43% write promotional copy, 47% train sales people, and 44% go on sales calls.
