MTV Networks Stream 1.2 Billion Videos

MTV Networks' Music Group delivered more than 1.2 billion video streams from MTV.com, VH1.com, and CMT.com in 2007, a hike of 30% from 2006. The music videos contributed to record-level online traffic for these websites and attracted nearly 30 million unique visitors monthly. Music videos also drove MTV Mobile, VH1 Mobile, and CMT Mobile into triple-digit growth in 2007, the company said in a press release. Among the first-ever ranking of the 30 most-popular music videos streamed on MTV.com, women dominated the charts. Britney Spears' live performance of Gimme More at the MTV Video Music Awards topped the rankings, followed by Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend, and Rihanna's Umbrella.
