The New York Times has launched a new text messaging service that delivers the latest news, features, and columns from the newspaper and the Times Magazine to cell phones and mobile devices. Consumers can receive the service by sending appropriate keywords as text messages to 698698 (NYTNYT), after which they will receive the latest three articles from the requested section. The keywords appear in the corresponding sections of the newspaper. The articles can be displayed on any type of cell phone or PDA, and the service is free to use, though standard carrier charges may apply.
