Do All Employers Consider Employee Retention as a Religion?

In marketing jobs, there are many people who are good at what they do, and there are just as many who fail at it. That aside, companies should be focusing on the employees who have proved they possess the talent to move the company forward, and have made the most of their marketing opportunity. The problem is that there are many companies who are not.

There are so many employers right now who do not seem to care whether or not they are able to keep the talented employees with, in the company. They may feel as if employees are expendable and can be replaced easily. After all, there are plenty of individuals who are looking to get into marketing jobs right now!

A survey did indeed reveal that there are companies out there who don't care about employee retention, especially considering the number of marketing opportunities out there. There are some that do care, but they are focusing on other things. They might be trying out new marketing strategies, or they might be focusing on a merger. What they don't realize is that they are only hurting themselves by failing to retain these talented employees.

When a person focusing on a marketing career decides that they don't care to work at a place, it hurts the company in that they need to train someone else, and the person that left might have had a skill that was incredibly important to the company. Of course that company might never find out what their skills were because they didn't bother to keep the person around!

The important thing here is to keep the employees as happy as you possibly can. You need to keep in mind that employees don't really care about whether or not the company is going to benefit from what they are doing, so you should in fact help them to understand how they are helping themselves through their work for the company.

Also make sure that you encourage the ones in the marketing jobs to interact with others in the office. Having friends in the office can definitely help to take some stress off of the work day, so it would be prudent to arrange get togethers and even company picnics.

These types of jobs can be very difficult at times, but as long as you are a determined individual, you will make it in this type of marketing career. Overall, make sure that you have a decent resume when you are applying. When we say decent we mean that you're going to need to write a great cover letter, and have some excellent content in your resume.

Excellent content can include your own personal references, but it should definitely include your professional references, how long you worked with them, and if you have any relation to them, which you should not. Also make sure that you list your places of employment for the past five years, and make sure you list any accomplishments that you might have.

As long as your cover letter is attractive and your resume tells the employer what he or she wants to hear, you should be on your way to a great marketing career before you know it. Just remember to never give up on your dreams. They're right around the corner!
