Product Manager Jobs

A product manager is typically responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. His/her responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams to ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. A product manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.
A product manager is also expected to define the product strategy and roadmap and work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities. Moreover, it is the product manager's job to run beta and pilot programs of early-stage products and samples.
While many companies are satisfied if their product managers hold a bachelor's degree, an MBA is definitely preferred. Further, a product manager should ideally have demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, substantial teamwork skills, and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority are a must for a product manager and so is the willingness to travel and prior industry experience.
