The Sales and Marketing Area Manager is responsible for assisting the Sales and Marketing Regional Manager in driving and increasing tour flow by assisting with all external marketing activities designated locations and off property events. The Area Manager provides direct supervision of Sales and Marketing Representatives and marketing support team members, and plays a vital role in assisting the Regional Manager in recruiting, training, and developing staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Drives and increases package sales by assisting with all external marketing activities at the designated locations and off property events.
Assists in hiring, counseling, coaching, training, and managing Sales and Marketing Representatives.
Assists management in achieving and/or exceeding departmental monthly budgets.
Assists with implementing department initiatives to increase productivity while maintaining a positive demeanor and work environment at all times towards guests and team members.
Initiates and suggests plans to motivate team members to achieve monthly and/or annual tours and sales goals.
Ensures staff is using Company-approved scripts at all times when speaking to guests.
Provides relief for staff on breaks or as schedule demands.
Responsible for individual production, consistently achieving established production standards as outlined in the department compensation plan.
Accurately reconciles and reports monies collected on a daily basis.
Communicates the customer needs and interests to management so the Company will continue to change based on the market’s needs.
Communicates information to prospective clients regarding the area’s locations and activities.
Ensures all Promotional Marketing staff and locations represent high standards of quality: appropriate and approved work attire at all times, practices good hygiene for individuals, and professional appearance and organizational cleanliness of locations.
Ensures Promotional Marketing staff consistently has all tools and collateral to perform their job stocked at respective locations.
Provides superior customer service in accordance with the Company standards.
Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
A minimum two (2) years of experience in the timeshare field required.
A minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in the management field required.
This position spends the majority of the time (50% or more) achieving organization objectives, often through the coordinate achievements of subordinate staff. A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks related similar to those performed by direct reports, but primary duties are supervisory or organizational-goal related. Analyzes and resolves problems, determines work techniques, monitors for regulatory compliance, maintains production, interprets and creates policies, and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge.
Establishes departmental goals and objectives, functions with independence, and makes decisions on matters of significant importance. Manages human, financial, and/or physical resources; proactively assesses risk to establish systems and procedures to protect organizational assets. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action; develops systems to ensure subordinates adhere to policies and procedures in compliance with organizational goals and objectives.
Specific supervisory duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assigns, monitors, and reviews work; evaluates direct report’s performance.
Orientates and trains direct reports.
Provides assistance and support; maintains a positive and professional working environment.
LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS
Driver’s Licenses (non-commercial) - must be state-specific.

This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to learn custom marketing software.
Ability to operate office machinery (i.e., computer, copy machine, fax, etc.).
