Against that backdrop Humana is building a best-in-class Consumer Marketing organization to drive profitable growth across diverse business lines. We are seeking a talented executive to lead the marketing organization for our Home Solutions segment, which is bringing care to the patient's home across the full spectrum of acuity from Primary Care relationships to Hospital encounters.

Our Home Solutions organization is in the midst of a significant growth strategy that requires not only acquisition of new customers and patients but also the engagement and retention of current ones. The suite of Home Solutions assets (which is comprised of 7 unique companies and offerings) is continuing to refine through partnerships, acquisition and innovation, and has the opportunity to position the company uniquely in service of seniors living with chronic conditions. This will require developing new categories and products, expanding into new customer segments, deploying critical capabilities to win with those segments and redefining the care experience. This strategic shift will add considerable complexity to the marketing function supporting the segment and strong marketing leadership will be key to the successful execution of the strategy.

The AVP, Home Solutions Marketing will oversee portfolio management and marketing strategy for the segment, and will build the marketing team to support the strategic business needs. This individual will have oversight of annual marketing plans as well as longer term marketing capability roadmaps in close collaboration with business partners. Identifying emerging market trends and bringing innovative solutions to market will be required to help this segment and Humana become a leader in the industry. Partnering with JVs, acquired groups, and aligned partners will require managing complex brand relationships and market approaches that will be unique by partner, but must be additive in power for Humana. The AVP will be expected to develop a broad understanding of the business and how it interacts in the plan space, as well drive marketing strategies that meet business challenges and that also position **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. as a thought leader in this space.

Location is open, but Louisville, KY is preferred. Relocation assistance to Louisville, Kentucky will be provided.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities


Lead development of Portfolio Marketing approach for the segment, considering asset compatibility for internal and external growth.
Engage with partner organizations to deeply align on marketing strategies both internal and external to Humana; partner with Segment leads and VP/SVP leads of each asset to understand needs, contribute to business approach.
Develop strong annual marketing plans for each asset (7 ) with budget and impact recommendations; gain buy-in from senior leadership for funding.
Develop 2-4 year roadmap of marketing capabilities to bring efforts to best practice and meet unique needs of segment.
Develop staffing proposal that is efficiently scalable, and allows for growth in capabilities.
Successfully develop categories for new-to-market innovations and products. Support product and category development with deep understanding of consumer insights, tracking nascent consumer trends, and responding to market shifts.
Lead product marketing efforts around existing and new-to-market products including positioning and value proposition development, target identification and opportunity sizing, and breakthrough campaigns to drive uptake.
Assess potential vendor partners and negotiate engagements for key initiatives; hold vendors accountable for deliverables and KPIs.
Lead team in rapid test and learn methodology and innovation in engagement marketing
Lead team in use of behavioral economic biases in marketing efforts to develop targeted campaigns that improve response.
Relationship management with the most senior levels in the business segment
Lead the creation of always-on marketing communications and solutions to drive sales enablement and the successful acquisition of new customers
Drive sales success with carriers and providers (B2B marketing) through packaging value of Home Solutions assets, and thought leadership
Performance measurement and improvement
Oversee and manage all marketing strategy, planning, plan execution, financial management and measurement for the Home Solutions Marketing team.
Build, lead, and develop an initial team of 7-10 experienced marketing professionals: coach and mentor associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent. Scale team as business grows.
Partner with Marketing Shared Service Leaders to provide the optimal marketing answers to business challenges; Collaborate within broader Marketing organization to ensure consistency within market strategies, communications and messaging.


Key Deliverables (6-12 month horizon)


Develop multi-year marketing vision for portfolio, along with capability assessment and roadmap to accomplish; lead implementation of year one with significant impact and ROI
Develop a comprehensive portfolio management strategy for segment
Define the learning agenda for the business as it relates to marketing needs, especially considering the interaction between the assets


Key Candidate Qualifications

The successful candidate will have broad and diverse marketing leadership experience in multiple environments, including product/category development, B2C, B2B, digital, and marketing through third-party partners. He/she will have a degree in Marketing or a related field and a clear track record of spearheading the adoption of marketing best practices and innovation. This person will be a strong leader of people with proven success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of the team. Finally, the successful candidate will have experience playing a pivotal role supporting a successful, large-scale business transformation and will demonstrate the ability to toggle effortlessly between strategic and tactical activities.

In addition to the above, the following professional qualifications and personal attributes will be ideal:


Strong business acumen... more than 'just' a marketing mindset - understanding downstream and upstream impacts
Experience with business development and growth strategies; innovation mindset
Solid foundational expertise in marketing/consumer analytics
Excellent foundation in marketing fundamentals and best practices, with understanding and demonstrated experience in complex or regulated consumer purchases.
Ability to introduce and create change and/or urgency; perseverance to overcome disruption and barriers; ability to work through tumultuous or ambiguous scenarios successfully.
Experience managing external vendor relationships
Strategic thought partnership and ability to learn the business, helping to shape the marketing strategy to support business growth
A clear passion for the consumer/customer
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences
Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 250), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders in such an environment
Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome
Proven experience in creating and managing marketing budgets
MBA or advanced degree in marketing, advertising, or similar field
