MERCHANDISING GRAD ASSOCIATE:

Designer Brands is committed to developing the next generation of strong leaders.  Want to grow a career with one of North America's largest designers, producers, and retailers of footwear and accessories?  Our GRAD Training Program gives recent graduates real-world experience in a growing organization. 

 

As a GRAD Associate, you will actively engage with the business, product assortments, and inventory channels that supply merchandise to more than 500 stores nationwide. 

 

This 12-week (paid and full-time) intensive training and onboarding program will:

*allow participants to work with Merchandising and Inventory Planning teams, using data to make recommendations on what products to buy, how much to buy, and what locations to send it to. *involve classroom learning which includes retail math, reporting, systems training, department overviews, career paths, presentation skills, trend/competitive shopping, and product development.  *provide participants with exposure to a wide variety of business areas to help build a foundational understanding of retail at Designer Brands. *include mentorship, executive engagement, and development opportunities to foster fundamental growth and support the transition into Merchandising and MP&A roles. *prepare participants to join the Merchandising or MP&A teams as an Assistant Buyer or Allocation Analyst. 

Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree (obtained by May 2022) *Knowledge of retail industry and a strong passion for products *Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills *Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task *Demonstrated leadership skills *Intellectual curiosity *Ability to identify trends *Team-player and a love of learning
