Assistant Retail Buyer: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family
As a member of the Retail Team, the Assistant Retail Buyer will be assisting the Retail Buyer in recapping business, assorting, communicating opportunities, and collaborating with merchandising and marketing for the assigned area in support of the Brand initiatives and consumer-focused branding strategy to maximize sales and profits and increasing market share for the retail stores.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Maintain and monitor purchase orders including, Assortment sheet creation, picture sheets, inbound receipt tracking and trouble- shooting, while communicating to the buyer issues and opportunities.
Track sales, create and analyze reports, makes suggestions to the Buyer on in season action. System inputs on reorders or cancellations.
Assists the Buyer by preparing recommendations for next season’s assortments based on report creation and analysis of selling history, financial plans, and key initiatives.
Responds to store feedback, visits stores to gain insights, shops the competition.
Participates in product review meetings with merchandising, proving feedback through current selling insights, and competitive landscape.
Assists in Visual lab, visual directive and signage creation process, working with Buyer and Visual team.
Responsible for management and organization of samples for all areas of DTC.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience
Educational/ Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Retail Administration, Merchandising, Business, or other related field and/or related experience preferred.
Expert level experience at Excel and Power Point.
Trend Analysis and problem solving skills are required.
Learns how to manage and build cross-functional relations.
Manage competing priorities and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
An understanding of the competition.
Strong organization skills.
Strong time management skills with a sense of urgency.
Strong communication skills.
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
Travel by air and overnight, as required 5% of time.
