The Strategic Marketing Planner (SMP) serves as a trusted marketing advisor to his/her business leaders and key stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for developing best-in-class strategic marketing plans as well as overseeing campaign delivery.

This position will be responsible for strategic planning, execution, and management of both live and virtual events. In addition, this role has responsibility for support and integration of third-party association relationships, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, and vetting of new promotional opportunities across the practice. The role requires sourcing, contract negotiation, and logistics management expertise as well as the ability to drive campaigns through execution. It demands a significant amount of communication with senior leadership as well as internal marketing stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive marketing strategy and plans for sponsored and proprietary events with campaigns that align with A&A's strategic priorities, both virtually and in-person
Explore and integrate new and innovative marketing approaches, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance performance and increase ROI
Serve as marketing advisor to key stakeholders within areas of responsibility-assist with the articulation of value propositions, develop marketing objectives in support of key priorities
Serve as the primary point of contact in managing relationships with key third-party organizations in negotiating contracts, event sponsorships and participations, speaking opportunities, and conference attendance
Work to competitively position the firm and A&A practice to maximize opportunities with outside organizations
Manage both digital and print media buys for major conferences/with key associations
Seek to amplify campaigns through collaboration with other groups, both internal and external (e.g., key influencers and organizations)
Manage campaign activities as required to ensure the campaign meets strategic intent (content, timing, budget issues, channel strategy, metrics)
Monitor campaign success metrics and KPIs, adjust accordingly, and communicate with marketing and practice leaders
Advise, plan, and manage marketing events calendar and marketing budgets for campaigns
Work closely with strategic marketers and campaign managers to set, monitor, execute on, and achieve desired goals and outcomes
Work closely with internal specialty groups (brand, legal/procurement, compliance, risk, etc.) and remote support teams in executing events
Qualifications:
Marketing/communications professional with a minimum of eight years' relevant experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing or Communications-MBA a plus
Strong knowledge of marketing, events, and communications strategic practices
Experience managing third-party association relationships including events, sponsorships, conferences, and publications
Excellent written and verbal communication
Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
Strong project management and follow-through skills
Team-oriented individual with proven ability to take initiative, solve problems, and work under tight competing deadlines
Proven success in developing and executing events and marketing programs, including digital and social media, for a large business, preferably in professional or business services
Innovative, creative, curious mindset with a willingness to learn about, experiment with, and champion new media and channels
Experience working independently, and comfortable working well in a virtual team environment
Strong relationship building/relationship management skills and proven ability to interact with all levels of leadership
Works well under pressure and can effectively and professionally resolve unforeseen challenges
Experience collaborating across teams at a professional services firm or large, matrixed organization preferred
