As an integral part of the marketing team, the Marketing Brand
Specialist is responsible for copy writing and production of a wide variety of
creative, accurate and proficiently crafted documents and marketing collateral
to support MemorialCare’s Simply Better Patient Experience, Employee Experience
and Online Reputation Management. This
position blends marketing communications understanding with marketing and
public relations writing responsibilities and works cross-functionally within
the department and the company. Solid writing skills and the ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously to completion on time and meeting deadlines
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Support the MemorialCare Experience program to ensure a Simply Better Experience is delivered to every Patient, Guest and Employee of MemorialCare.Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to creatively translate ideas and concepts into content that communicates key messages and achieves strategic objectives.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals and journals to write public relations/marketing copy that is promotional and persuasive in nature. Must be able to work independently, make own decisions and demonstrate initiativeTimely production of marketing collateral to maximize opportunities.Up-to-date intranet content and marketing collateral and inventory.Timely response to online reputation management.Timely writing and production of communication pieces.Must have thorough understanding of print production techniques and marketing communications.Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends and have a valid CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Be at work and be on time.Follow company policies, procedures and directives.Interact in a positive and constructive manner.Prioritize and multitask.
Essential Job Outcomes Manages and helps to strengthen MemorialCare’s Online Reputation. Responds to inquiries, reviews, complaints and compliments made online by Patients in a timely manner using the Simply Better Brand Behaviors and customer first approach to help create raving fans of the MemorialCare Brand.Event support and coordination for Internal events related to enhancing the MemorialCare Experience, including The MemorialCare Experience, The Physician Experience, The Management Conference, Leadership Summit and President’s Partnership.Manages marketing collateral production, working with graphic designers, printers and other vendors to produce finished pieces within budgetary constraints and meeting all due dates and deadlines. Proofs and edits all copy prior to submittal for production and performs final proof and edits of marketing materials.Proficient in composing original written works based on research, personal interviews and other information gathering techniques. Responsible for developing, writing and editing content for internal and external communication vehicles for a variety of audiences. This will include, but not limited to: Simply Better Patient Stories, Simply Better training materials and collateral, marketing collateral copy, intranet content, employee announcements, communications related to the employee uniform program, etc. Assist other marketing staff and other departments with proof-reading and editing of written materials as needed.Manages marketing collateral fulfillment specific to the MemorialCare Experience including but not limited to: maintaining inventory of marketing pieces, reordering as needed; filling order requests for materials from across the system; forecasting and meeting the increased needs for upcoming busy periods; and updating on-line available forms inventory and authorized order lists.Writes, produces and distributes a weekly Simply Better newsletter/email that contains relevant and inspiring information for all staff to use to enhance the MemorialCare Experience.In a timely manner, produces employee communications including but not limited to: uniform program updates; announcements for events; Simply Better awards nominations; presentation writing and power point preparation for Simply Better training, etc. Answers Marketing phone number and assists employees as needed with questions about their uniforms. Works collaboratively with Human Resources to ensure that employees are uploaded into the uniform ordering system and helps to maintain the uniform standards.Functions as additional resource for the department by attending marketing events as needed. Receives inquiries through the intranet and online and answers were appropriate or forwards to the correct party and completes Patient Interaction Forms when necessary. Consistently completes tasks in a timely manner meeting deadlines and critical milestones.“Other duties as assigned”','!*!
Minimum of 3 – 5 years healthcare or hospitality experience, collateral production, and event production is essential;
including writing marketing materials, articles, training materials and direct
correspondence with customers.
A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or marketing and public relations is preferred.
