Communications Specialist
Work you'll do
As a Communications Specialist, you must be first and foremost, a storyteller and writer. You will be creating original written and visual content, as well as improving the work of others through careful review and critical editing.
You'll help our internal real estate team communicate in an effective and purposeful way. This means helping to define communication objectives, identify and analyze stakeholder needs, develop insightful communication strategies, and write individual communications. Your expertise in communications, writing, and storytelling will make you a true thought partner to our team.
You will express and convey information in ways that are consistent with Deloitte brand and style. You must be a stickler for detail and have a healthy respect for timelines, tools, and processes.
Create content, messaging, and storylines in support of real estate projects and strategies, utilizing various vehicles such as email, presentations, our internal website, and other internally focused collateral.
Translate real estate strategy and needs into understandable and compelling messaging, tailored for the audience, context, and type of communication, and aligned with Deloitte brand and style guides.
Collaborate with the real estate team to conceptualize, structure, write, and edit pieces so that they're compelling and crystal clear.
Analyze communications needs and recommend solutions, messaging, and plans.
Develop communications plans for specific real estate projects, tailoring the plan based on its needs and scope.
Manage the communications plan for a project, including:
be embedded in the project to understand its nuances and adjust the plan and communications accordingly
provide status updates to the project lead/team on upcoming communications and the overall plan
execute on the plan, shepherding each deliverable through the draft, review, and delivery process
liaise with the appropriate local office contacts, business partner communications teams, national communications team, and Creative Services as needed, to develop and deliver communications.
Manage deadlines for multiple content pieces and projects simultaneously.
Identify and recommend creative ideas that will deliver on real estate's strategic goals.
Flex as needed to support key initiatives that dovetail or support real estate.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
About the Team
The Deloitte Real Estate team serves in an internal capacity to deliver strategic real estate, facility management and workplace solutions with quality and value, which foster collaboration, and support innovation while delivering on well-being and sustainability goals. The Real Estate team supports a portfolio of more than 160 offices in five countries.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree required in business, communications, marketing, English, journalism, or a related field; Advanced degrees preferred
Required Skills
3 years of experience in a business communications-related field (e.g., journalism, public relations, corporate communications) with a focus on communications strategy, planning and execution
Solid understanding of communications strategies and tactics and how they come together to provide measurable results
Outstanding ability to write clearly, persuasively and adapt writing style depending on audience and communication objectives
Experience working with a range of business communications media (e.g., writing, presentations)
Exposure to executive communications, change communications, and/or internal communications
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks or projects to successful outcomes in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and highly collaborative environment
Flexibility and adaptability and level of comfort with ambiguity and fluid priorities
Strong project management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to learn from others
High intellectual curiosity, with the ability to absorb new information rapidly and grapple with a wide range of complex business issues
Sensitivity to, and discretion in, handling confidential information
Superior Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with integrating various technologies to support marketing efforts
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
