The Category Associate Marketing Manager (AMM) is responsible for developing, translating and activating against key category marketing strategies in support of the business objectives for Computing. Development of category and promotional strategies and plans will be critical to success within this role.
Key Responsibilities
1) STRATEGIC PLANNING
• Creates strategic plans for key business units or initiatives. Plans generally have a six to nine-month planning horizon. Frequently co-creates with partners inside and outside of own work group
• Develops business cases that drive behaviors based on consumer needs. Produces reports that connect data to business issues.
• Demonstrates how plans support the broader company strategies.
• Develops progressive, relevant approaches to positively affect business based on forward looking business initiatives.
• Builds marketing launch and go to market plans for quarterly MDF campaigns and key product launches
• Plans and executes overall messaging strategy across vehicles and tactics
• Manage annual vendor program development for assigned category
• Develop vendor strategies and overall program development and lead/participate in MDF negotiation for marketing activities
• May manage a portion of the budget or the full budget for a single business/project or multiple smaller businesses.
• Provide total $ and marketing mix recommendations that support the category management business objectives and collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure they are developing the most effective marketing plans to meet their goals.
2) PROJECT EXECUTION
• Manages and/or executes strategic plans and projects end to end.
• Works primarily with immediate category management partners and other teams and marketing teams on moderate to large functions
• Recommends and implements process improvements
• Manages and/or Creates process plans for key business units or initiatives. Considers required inputs, outputs and interdependencies
• Solicits multiple POV from intra-functional partners; develops a common POV to deliver a result.
• Oversee and execute/ensure all vendor MDF commitment requirements are made.
3) PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
• Provides clear direction, feedback and development to mentees and other individuals (not directly reporting) as applicable.
Basic Requirements
• 5 years progressive Marketing or related experience
• 2 years people or resource leadership experience
• 2 years retail experience Preferred
• 2 years national brand experience Preferred
