The Director, Commercial Planning and Effectiveness, has a dual reporting relationship between VP, Co-Global Brand Lead GLT, Sr National Sales Director and Exec. Director, Commercial Planning and Operations. This is to ensure that the efforts are prioritized to address specific needs of the Oncology commercial franchise while maintaining operational consistency across the entirety of the Eisai commercial organization. The scope of work includes essential duties relating to Commercial Strategy & Field Effectiveness, Launch Planning Excellence, and Strategic Commercial Projects as determined by the Executive team. In this highly visible role, the Director, Commercial Planning & Effectiveness will be responsible for leading and supporting the strategic imperatives for in-line and launch brands including, KPI development and management, business planning processes and field engagement. The individual will lead the Launch Readiness Planning and Governance structure within Eisai in close collaboration with Alliance Management. The individual will partner with colleagues in R&D, Clinical, Marketing, Analytics, Market Access, Sales, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Alliance Management, Medical Affairs and other teams to lead launch planning activities, field enablement initiatives, and other programs designed to drive collaborative planning, execution, communication, tracking & measurement, across the company and the alliance. Essential Functions Commercial Planning & Effectiveness Lead the process to translate marketing objectives into salesforce strategy and implementation plans at the regional, district and territory levels. Lead the field communication and governance model for the Commercial Oncology leadership team Lead the planning process for all quarterly deliverables for the field force including Regional Meetings, National Meetings, National Teleconferences, etc. At the direction of Oncology Executive Leadership coordinate the development of key management deliverables including monthly reports, executive communications and presentation decks, etc. Lead the appropriate communication and implementation of all standard and adhoc operational process steps related to all field force activities including (targeting, incentive compensation, field force automation, training, etc.) in alignment with the Commercial Planning and Operations Team. Oversee the process for field force effectiveness audits and recommendations back to Sales and Marketing and the development of associated interventions Lead the Field Force Advisory Councils to ensure timely feedback on execution, customer feedback, compliance related matters, culture and engagement, etc. Serve as Alliance Contact with partners for all matters of field force planning and operations including new indication launch planning, KPIs, information exchange, etc. Launch Planning Excellence Partner with Executive Leadership within Oncology Franchise to execute launch strategy initiatives, responsible for delivering the launch plans and preparing the organization to commercialize our products Leads cross-functional effort to support launch strategy, including priorities, milestones, key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestone monitoring as well as ensuring alignment and continuity between pre-commercial launch activities, commercial launch activities and post-launch activities Establish and oversee a collaborative Launch Governance model with cross-functional colleagues (Marketing, Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Finance, Clinical, R&D, Legal, Regulatory, Trade, Training, HR etc.), to define detailed launch plans, lead cross-functional meetings, project tracking, & ensure effective communications across the organization and between alliance partners Manage the planning & execution of timelines, communication (internal and across alliance) and key deliverables/milestones designed to ensure Eisai is well positioned to generate significant business outcomes that ultimately exceed planned objectives Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and dependencies, including the design, development and implementation of contingency plans as needed Leverage insights to continually drive process improvements, identify evolving needs through benchmarking and post-mortem activities designed to enhance cross-functional collaboration and efficiency that will amplify results Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
