Business Technology & Operations Leader

Reporting to : Business Experience & Technology Leader

Location : Wilmington, DE or Midland, MI

Position Purpose:

Lead and establish a high-performing, digitally-driven operation that improves speed and quality of delivery in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners. The successful candidate will be adept at driving: 1) cross-functional alignment, 2) end-to-end process and data optimization, and 3) delivering value-based technology solutions in support of priority customer workstreams.

This role is critical to defining and implementing the optimal business architecture and platform required to accelerate Shelter’s digital business aspirations across the complex digital ecosystem in which we operate. Must have solid analytical, process and technical chops, with an equally strong passion for winning with customers in the ever-changing digital landscape.

Position Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of business-building technology strategies, roadmaps and action plans that delight customers and drive maximum value creation for the business.

This role is responsible for the overall business architecture and end-to-end platform that powers Shelter’s commercial business, as well as the release plans and change management efforts related to improved processes, workflows, data management and implementation of new tools and capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in delivering successful transformation programs in the areas of strategic marketing, customer experience, order management, eCommerce/marketplaces, enterprise architecture, advanced data & analytics and/or demand planning & forecasting.

Key Activities:

Elevate technology & operations strategy, planning, and execution across Shelter in a way that ensures cross-functional teams are aligned to support the full, end-to-end customer lifecycle in a way that exceeds internal and external expectations.

Ensure tightly integrated processes, data and systems align in service of multiple customer journey maps across businesses and harmonizing platform to service all.

Embed customer insights and segmentation data into core processes, particularly with respect to product management and supply chain planning and decision making.

Leverage AI, ML, RPA, and process mining capabilities to automate/optimize core processes and improve quality and speed of actioning of data insights

Advance eCommerce capabilities to support inventory, pricing, logistics tracking and integration between key systems (SAP, PIM, SFDC, etc.)

Be an integral member of the Business Experience team in launching new services and digitally-enabled business models through integration of mobile apps, AR/VR, etc.

Analyze and streamline how we partner, collaborate, and share data with strategic partners. Develop middleware strategy that is central to Shelter’s business architecture.

Ensure robust implementation of Customer 360, Product 360, and Revenue 360 data models to empower cross-functional teams with reliable, real-time data; work cross-functionally to populate, cleanse and govern data quality. Position business to fully leverage Data Lake when available.

Ensure tightly integrated application architecture across SAP, SFDC, PIM, Adobe, digital commerce solutions and many more within the ecosystem.

Develop business cases and steer the program management/prioritization of projects

Identify innovation opportunities that address critical platform needs and drive them to scale

Provide recommendations on how to streamline operations to be more agile, outcomes focused and to embrace flawless execution objectives

Develop scorecard of operational / systems metrics to ensure speed and quality of delivery; hold teams accountable

Competitive benchmarking and keeping an outside-in view on best-in-class customer engagement strategies and digital capabilities is paramount to capitalize on the digital business acceleration underway within the Shelter business.

Codify best practices and lead the organization in lunch ‘n learns or other forums to embed “what great looks like” into our culture, mindset and daily operations.

Build and develop teams while establishing a data-driven, test & learn, agile culture.

Required Knowledge/Experience:

Superior interpersonal skills, ability to influence and generate buy-in at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders.

Business architecture and process design expert in minimizing complexity at the seam between people and technology to improve satisfaction and operational targets.

Financial and value management acumen to optimally balance the total cost of operations. Create headroom towards fueling investments to drive growth enablement.

Significant expertise in planning and executing complex transformational initiatives and change management programs with high-degree of detail, rigor, and success.

A successful track record working with business and IT peers and partners worldwide in a highly productive manner. Embodies strengths in relationship building and co-developing the future in a collaborative, cross-functional way.

Depth of experience and knowledge of how to best maximize teams and leverage marketing technology, processes, and data to achieve results that exceed business and customer expectations.

Possess a knack for bringing clarity to the complex by leveraging data and storytelling.

Strong program / project / process and data management.

Desired Background/Experience:

Experience in both B2B and B2C business models is helpful, particularly with regard to eCommerce, customer portals and back-end integrations

Experience with API strategy and execution.

Prior experience in high-tech field or service business highly desired.

Knowledge of manufacturing, construction, or design industry helpful.

Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, information technology or a related field. MBA desirable.

15 years of relevant experience in IT, Business Operations, or relevant field
