This is an exciting opportunity to work as an integral member of the Marketing & Communications team at Johns Hopkins Children's Center. The Marketing & Communications intern is responsible for assisting with a wide variety of marketing related tasks, including social media, web content, and production of digital and print collateral for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitoring Johns Hopkins Children's Center social media accounts and alerting team members of comments/reviews in need of response; Assisting with curation and development of content for social media Creating monthly social media reports to track successes, outcomes and help drive future content and overall social media strategy; Developing and implementing a system for electronic filing of HIPAA privacy consent forms and informing all team members of this process. Assisting with production of electronic newsletters (e-Pediatrician and consumer facing e-newsletter) by adding content and preparing for sends; Clean-up and maintenance of databases used for electronic newsletters and any print collateral on an as needed basis. Assisting with logistics and oversight of photo and video shoots; Ensuring faculty profiles are kept up to date on the JHCC website by actively working to edit profiles upon request; Administrative duties, as necessary, to support to overall efforts of the marketing and communications team.

The Intern will assist with the overall planning, development and implementation of assigned projects and tasks to support Marketing & Communications operations. This experience will enable unparalleled ventures to our interns which ultimately will expand interns' skills by leading and collaborating on new opportunities, working with teams, and honing in on the fundamentals of project management in marketing. The position is responsible for the completion of administrative projects and duties as assigned. Marketing & Communications offers a flexible and supportive working environment, while offering multiple challenges in hopes the intern will acquire useful experience for their future career. Ultimately the experience will facilitate both personal growth and professional development during the Intern's time in the department.

This full-time, $12/hr. paid internship is for 8 to 12 weeks.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing, editing, computer and internet skills. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. Special preference will be given to candidates with graphic design skills and working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite. Applicants must be students that have completed two years of college and in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference is given to individuals with a demonstrated interest in a career in health communications and marketing.
