New State Unemployment Figures Show Significant Drop for South Carolina, California

October 27, 2012 — Pasadena, California — The Bureau of Labor Statistics just released its state by state numbers for September and the figures are largely positive with decreases in unemployment spanning most states. These findings are backed up by numbers obtained by niche employment site, MarketingCrossing.com. In the past four months, the site saw an average of 70,754 jobs available. The sharpest period of growth in recent months was found between June and July of this year where there were 64,696 and 69,954 jobs posted, respectively. On the state level, the site shows 7,087 California jobs, one of the highest figures for any state. This stays in line with the numbers offered by the BLS.

The BLS gathered data across all 50 states. For the period of time between August and September of 2012, some states showed greater improvement in unemployment rates than others. For instance, the numbers for South Carolina jobs improved the most with a .5-percent drop in unemployment from 9.6-percent to 9.1-percent. California, Louisiana, and Utah all showed a drop of .4-percent.

These statistically significant figures are matched by those offered by MarketingCrossing.com. The job search site has showed consistent growth in the number of marketing jobs available.

At the very least, these figures should bolster confidence in the economy. There are more available positions for those in the marketing industry. Continued growth in all sectors is expected but marketing should see stand out figures if the industry remains on the same trajectory.
