Marketing VP Jobs description

The job of a vice president of marketing is a prestigious one in any company and brings along with it a host of responsibilities. Normally the head of his or her company’s marketing division, the vice president of marketing prepares strategies for branding a product, positions a brand, and creates strategies to market it. A high level of motivational skill is usually called for as the vice president of marketing needs to inspire and motivate team members.

Some general responsibilities associated with the job of a vice president of marketing include product marketing and positioning, marketing communications, sales support, consumer branding, budget and resource management, and public relations. Other responsibilities may be associated with the position of a vice president of marketing depending on the nature of the company and the specific job profile.

Vice president of marketing jobs, being senior positions, call for candidates with experience in the marketing field. The number of years of experience required will depend on the nature of the company, its size, and its policies. Along with a degree the job of a vice president of marketing will also require certain marketing qualifications as well as basic computer, organizational, and communication skills. A vice president of marketing job may involve little or extensive travel.
