Veoh Networks appoints Jennifer Betka as senior VP of marketing


Veoh Networks has appointed Jennifer Betka as senior vice president of marketing with the goal of better catering to its growing user base. At Veoh, Betka will be responsible for brand building through integrated marketing programs. Betka joins Veoh from SIRIUS Satellite Radio, where she was responsible for the introduction of Sirius Internet radio, known for its streaming radio service. At Sirius, she also directed a number of marketing initiatives including Howard Stern's move from terrestrial radio to Sirius, making it the largest entertainment event on the web at that time. Betka has also held executive positions at companies like Time-Warner and AOL. Veoh Networks is a leading Internet television company that delivers broadcast-quality video programming through the Internet.

Marketers go full-throttle for Harry Porter's final book release
After the hyped launch of Apple's iPhone, the next event that created marketing frenzy was the midnight release of the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It has been reported that New-York based companies spent millions on marketing campaigns and parties for the release of the last in the seven-book series by J.K. Rowling. The U.S. publisher Scholastic Corp. converted the city block in front of its flagship store into Harry Potter Place. A few of the featured attractions were the Knight Bus and Whomping Willow, along with face painting, jugglers, and stilt-walkers. Scholastic has printed 12 million copies of the book in the U.S. and within the first 24 hours of the release of the book, more than 6.9 million copies were sold, thanks to the hype.

Redesign Blue Ribbon Residential Construction has hired the services of VisionPoint Marketing, a leader in Internet marketing, to redesign and develop its web site. The move is an attempt to improve the website's visual appeal and to provide a more user-friendly interface. The new website will feature all of Blue Ribbon's projects including new room additions, kitchen remodeling, siding, and deck remodeling. Confirming the new development, Diane Kuehn, president of VisionPoint marketing said, "We are honored that Blue Ribbon selected us to redesign their website." These services will help Blue Ribbon solidify its online marketing efforts, Kuehn added. VisionPoint's other services include search marketing, e-mail marketing, branding, and lead generation.
