Giant food chain Subway has sued Quiznos, asserting that Quiznos’ user-generated advertisements made false claims and portrayed the Subway brand in a derogatory way. The sandwich chain filed a lawsuit in Connecticut federal court which is scheduled to go to trial next year. Two years back, Quiznos launched an online contest that asked the public to create videos that depicted its subs as “superior” to Subway’s. Subway is also objecting to ads created by Quiznos itself showing people on the street choosing Quiznos over Subway.
