Sprint Nextel has announced the release of its new broadband update for the HTC Mogul mobile device which will boost downloading speeds by up to 1.4 megabits per second, a browsing experience reminiscent of a desktop DSL. For the first time ever, Sprint enabled Rev. A on its EV-DO network for mobile phones; previously, Rev. A could only be accessed by laptop datacards. Sprint says that the mobile broadband network is now available in about 13,453 cities and 1,321 airports. The average download speeds will be in the range of 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps. Sprint users of HTC Mogul will be able to download free software to take advantage of the higher speeds.
